There are mainly the following three points:

1. Constant thickness sanding, in order to improve the workpiece thickness accuracy of sanding processing. For example: veneer substrate in front of the paste need to be fixed thickness sanding.

2. Surface sanding, refers to improve the surface quality, sand evenly on the surface of a layer of sand processing, in order to eliminate the previous process left knife lines, make the surface of the board beautiful, bright, also used for veneer, dyeing, printing, painting.

3. Sand hair, refers to to ensure the decorative board (veneer) and substrate bonding strength and improve the decorative board back rough sand processing.
